FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is TexStar a licensed camp?

TexStar Summer Day Camp is currently in the application process for a Day Youth Camp permit through the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). Camp operations are contingent upon final approval. In the unlikely event approval is not granted, registration fees and deposits will be refunded.

What happens if the building sells?

TexStar Summer Day Camp will operate at our current location for Summer 2026.

In the event of a facility transition, camp families will be notified immediately. If a move were to occur before your selected camp week and the new location is not suitable for your family, you would have the option to transfer weeks or request a refund for unused weeks.

Our goal is a smooth, organized transition, not disruption for families.
TexStar Summer Day Camp is designed to operate successfully whether at our current facility or a future TexStar location.

Why is camp now under TexStar instead of Little Creek?
We made the decision to streamline our programs under one unified brand.

TexStar already serves hundreds of families through tumbling, cheer, and recreational programs. Bringing summer camp fully under TexStar allows us to:

• Simplify operations
• Maintain clearer communication
• Focus on athletic-based programming
• Provide a more structured summer experience

It’s not a “new” camp, it’s a more focused version of what we’ve already been doing successfully for years.

If the new location isn’t convenient for my family, can I cancel?
If a location change occurs prior to your registered camp week and the new facility no longer works for your family, we will work with you on available options, including week transfers or refunds for unused weeks.

We want families to feel confident enrolling.

Why did you close Little Creek and sell equipment if you’re reopening camp?

Little Creek operated as a year-round childcare program, which required different staffing, licensing, and equipment.

As our business evolves, we made the decision to:

• Focus on athletic programming
• Streamline overhead
• Eliminate transportation
• Simplify licensing structure

TexStar Summer Day Camp is designed as a seasonal, activity-based camp, not full-time childcare.

It allows us to continue offering summer programming in a more sustainable and focused way.

Why don’t you offer field trips?

TexStar focuses on structured, in-house activity weeks inside our athletic facility. By staying on-site, we maintain better supervision, avoid transportation risks, and provide a more controlled camp experience.

What is the camper-to-staff ratio?

We maintain structured group rotations with trained staff members assigned to each group throughout the day.

What if my child gets sick?

Children must stay home if they have:

  • Fever (100°+)

  • Vomiting or diarrhea

  • Contagious illness

  • Severe cough or rash

There are no refunds for missed days due to illness.

Are there refunds?

Due to limited enrollment and staffing commitments, no refunds or make-up days are offered once a week is paid.

Can I switch weeks?

Week transfers may be allowed if requested at least 2 weeks in advance and space is available.

What does my child need to bring?

Parents provide:

  • Daily lunch

  • Labeled water bottle

Campers must wear:

  • Athletic clothing

  • Closed-toe athletic shoes

  • No jewelry

What happens if I’m late for pickup?

Camp ends at 5:45 PM.
Late fees apply:
$25 for the first minute + $1 per additional minute per child.

Repeated late pickups may result in dismissal from camp.

Do you offer sibling discounts?

Yes! We offer $25 off per week for the second child attending the same week (must be enrolled in the full week).

What makes TexStar different from other camps?

TexStar offers:

Smaller enrollment

Structured daily rotations

Athletic-based programming

Experienced instructors

Climate-controlled facility

Clear behavior standards

We prioritize safety, structure, and high-energy fun.
